Labs of Fordaka

The brisk cold invaded the lands like packs of hounds in the night. Chills and winter winds battered the old base as if it were water on metal. Hopeless it was, while mother nature tries to destroy the destroyers. Her battered arms from the nuclear winter weakened her strength and killed her boyfriend. Frost is no longer the cause of ice, but nuclear waste, the abundant freezer of the environment, killer to those who disagree with him. It was hopeless, again. No life in the vast tundra, not even the usually sun. He was also scarred by the his effect which blanketed the sky with ice and snow. Frost was to be no more.

Back at the labs, it sits silently while its diligent work for advancement came to be a priority. Controlled by the hunger superpowers, High Point, the name of the labs, came to be the most advanced labs in the world. Strange studies continued to work as they race with others to find the cure. Others, there, are to development better people, even if it requires a little of brainwashing. The compound was 300 levels below, classifying from every science known to mankind. Covering more distance of land than anything. Deep into the labs lies a chamber containing the body of Yulik Doir. Though the glass barrier that separates him and the scientist sit a lonely doctor.

From the beginning, N’alo was rejected by society and casted out as a highly intellectual person. Though she was from Keir, where Yulik was from. She remembers him from a festival and remembers him from an old faded childhood memory.

It was the beginning of the festival, to some it was the peak. People dancing and cheering and eating and having a good time. Floats, confetti, even big balloons raided the sky like the envious moon do the night with her bright smile that would stand out from the others. One in particular that appeared to be the dancing moon appearing a flower crown with her Haley’s comet close by. N’alo pushed her glasses to reassure herself of what she is seeing. She knew she had to be the lonesome Earth. Begging for her knight in shiny armor to bring life to her barren Earth. More and more, she locks herself from the world out.

Bells chimed and food was eaten quicker than a nature’s call. To some, it was nature’s day. The only place where she would be appreciated for her fruits. Since most of her is still unappreciated. Like N’alo was very unappreciated by the world around. She was the one who helped the soil desalination, she was the one who restored the original plant seeds from the old mutated, she was the one who figured the structural designs of the town. Yet, like mother nature, she was cruel in her inventions. Walking from the crowds, she urns to find her own place in the world, where she is praised rather than ridiculed. Heading home, she bumps into another partyer, except he started to acted funny in ways which she found obvious of flirting. Tripping and falling on himself like an idiot or what she saw was charming and struck with a light presence.

        “Hey, what’s your name?”
        “N’alo, and yours?”
From what she remembered is that she was talking with him for the rest of the festival. She concentrated on his smooth face…..

“N’alo?, I’ve got the tests from Lab 9.” Roeg interrupted.

“Roeg, do you remember when we first met?”

“Why yes, that was 3 years, 2 months, 6 hours, and 42 minutes ago, how
can I forget such beauty?” he smirked

       “Remember my friends?”

“Why, it’s blurry, but their names are Calia and Yulia I think.”

“That is Yulik, and that is him we are testing,”

“Really?, he was found barely alive at the Arena?”

“How did he get here?” she prompt with immediate attention.

“Well, Yulik is being tested for a new time shift project. If he can
travel back into time where we just beginning to use the weapon. Maybe
we can stop from utilizing the weapon.”

“That is what this whole project is about?, Project ChronoMorph”

“Yep, that is why that mean, ‘Time Shift’, anyway, anything thing else?”

“I would like to call his girlfriend back in Keir,”

“Girlfriend?, well alright, but you know he is unconscious. He can’t
       talk,”

“I know, just to let her know that he is going away, far away.”

After their long discussion about Yulik’s testing and well being. N’alo connects to the webnet to contact Calia about Yulik’s disappearance.  Urgently finding her number though the strings of numbers in Keir, merely exhausted her for a couple of moments. After the war, Keir’s population sky rocketed to the top, making it one of the largest farm cities in the whole continent. Continually frustration ruled her emotions as she finds that Calia is a common name, and she has forgotten her
last name.

       “3426-2345-3562, damnit, wrong number, 3426-2534-3562,”

“Hello, this is the Solta residence, Mr. Solta speaking,”

“Err.. Isn’t this where Calia Reod lives?”

“It is, but she’s my wife, now. We got married a couple of days ago,”

       “May I speak to her?”

       “Yes, moment please,”

N’alo thought to herself that this couldn’t have been the one. Calia would be waiting for Yulik to be her bride. After a moment later, she gets  connected with Calia.

“Calia, Calia, the one who knows the names of N’alo and Yulik?”

       “Yes, who is this?”

“Calia, I thought you would be in love with Yulik,”

       “Excuse me who is this?”

       “N’alo”

“Oh my goodness, Let’s get a secure line first,”

        “…”

        “How are you doing?”

“Fine, but why did you marry somebody, but Yulik”

“Parents, by the way, where is Yulik,”

“I have to say this, Yulik is going somewhere far away, Good Bye,”

        “Wait,”

The lines cut off and silence covers both phones as Calia sits there in deep depression while N’alo musters enough thought to carry on. Standing up off of her chair, she slowly walks towards the glass barrier where Yulik is being held. At first, she looks down and sighs in disappointing news. She begins to speak to Yulik.

“Yulik, you must go, nobody here is in care for you. Yeah, maybe your
parents are still living, but your existence to live is gone. Calia is
        married to another man.”

Though the glass, even in his sleep, he begins to tear up. More and more N’alo reports, the bigger the tears get as she progresses though her thoughts. Helpless, N’alo stops. She’d wished Yulik to be strong. Cold as Ice, Yulik’s appearance began to change from a neutral state to a more sadistic mood.

She felt that she can’t say more about the situation. Walking away, she continues to do tests to him. Couple of times, she had to stop. The sad messenger felt the effects of the message as she had to deliver it.  It seemed forever, though it was only an hour, that Roeg returned to initiated the gates of time. Reports, projects, tests, continued to garble her mind, until she remembers that day. What happened, life seem to went real fast after that day, she thought.

“Ok, we are able to begin the project. Start the Time Generator, we are
going send him to that Day maybe in Keir.”

“The Day? Are you serious?” she quickly respond as he types the date.

“Not really, but his mission parameters require a minimal of 6 months.
So he got 6 months to stop the launch. He’ll make routine checks in 1
month periods. Anyway, we are to join too, if the project is
successful. Only if he finds our Cryogen Pods in High Point.”

“But that is almost impossible to help him.”

“I know, but if he only opens it, we can help.”

“If we send him back to the Day, then he won’t be born.”

“None of us was born, but our nation was well old,”

        “Start it,”

The internal engines of both computer and the massive chamber started to glowing as it emits light unseen to scientists. Yulik’s chamber started drained as for others started to drain.
